Website relaunch as a digital symbiosis of modern user experience and eventful history
The Berlin-Brandenburg Academy of Sciences and Humanities is an interdisciplinary and international association of outstanding scientists with over 300 years of tradition. Its history is marked by 79 Nobel Prize winners.
History meets modernity
JUNGMUT relaunched the website of the Berlin-Brandenburg Academy of Sciences and Humanities (BBAW) and three other central websites. Not only was the main page relaunched, but the subpages for the archive, library and event center were also revised at the same time and migrated to a new content management system.
The BBAW’s main requirement was to communicate its impressive history and current research achievements in amodern and digitalway, with a particular focus on the different user groups.
Migration of 7,460 pages with 15,830 content elements to a new accessible and responsive web design
In order to optimize usability and user experience not only in terms of content, but also visually and technically, a barrier-free and responsive web design as well as an excellent semantic search was developed for the new website. The technical challenge here was the transfer of a total of four BBAW websites from four different environments to the new TYPO3 content management system, which forms the sustainable technical basis of the new website.
Not seen enough yet?
Together with the client, JUNGMUT redesigned, designed and technically implemented the BBAW website between April 2019 and April 2020.
