JUNGMUT was commissioned to design the visual identity of the Global Shield. This challenge consisted of developing a meaningful logo that also illustrates the global goals of the initiative and the close links to important stakeholders such as V20, G7 and InsuResilience in an appealing way.
Particular attention was paid to ensuring that the resulting logo was not only aesthetically pleasing, but also conveyed a clear message about the global ambitions of the initiative. The challenge was to create a visual identity that symbolizes both the diversity of global cooperation and the involvement of the key players.
An interplay of protection, color and community
For the logo, JUNGMUT went through a creative process in which various abstract and non-European approaches to a globe were developed. This included ideas such as a fan-like representation or narrow lines to emphasize the idea of global networking. The choice of colors was a further step. JUNGMUT tested numerous color variations to ensure that the logo had a balanced mix of the V20, G7 and InsuResilience colors.
These creative considerations led to the development of the current logo. It consists of dynamic, sweeping stripes that wrap around the globe and a curved semicircle as a shield. It conveys the message of protection, connection and global cooperation to counteract the challenges of climate change.
