The Cologne Cathedral Cultural Foundation is dedicated to preserving and promoting the cultural and historical significance of Cologne Cathedral. In addition to preserving the building, the foundation promotes the extensive cultural, artistic and church-historical offerings.
As part of the relaunch of the Cologne Cathedral Cultural Foundation’s website, both the general user experience and the design of the user interface were comprehensively revised and the site was implemented in CMS WordPress. The aim was to create a harmonious link between classicism and modernity in order to appeal to a broad target group – from traditional admirers to young explorers.
Simplification at all levels
In addition to optimizing the navigation, a particular focus was placed on the flexible integration of texts and images in various formats to make editing and updating the content much easier. Optimization for mobile devices was also of great importance, as the majority of users access the website via smartphones.
Appropriate color design
The new website design exudes a bright and sophisticated aesthetic, combining warm gray tones with a friendly orange. The use of a serif font for headlines gives the site a decorative touch and stands out stylishly from the body text. A special highlight is the subtle integration of the cathedral spire from the logo of the Cologne Cathedral Cultural Foundation as a design element, which increases the recognition value.
