Digital transformation for children’s rights

In April 2023, JUNGMUT supported the German Children’s Fund (DKHW) in the digital transformation of its website. The aim of the project was to create a central platform that provides comprehensive information on children’s rights initiatives, offers of help as well as funding and donation opportunities. The website acts as a central showcase for the organization and was intended to strengthen its image as a donation and children’s rights organization with a modern, user-friendly design.

UX process and development of the information architecture

An intensive UX process, supported by Google Analytics data, served as the basis for the development of a new information architecture and a revised navigation concept. Personas, goals and expectations were defined in various workshops with DKHW project participants. This led to the creation of detailed wireframes that enable an optimized user journey for different target groups, especially donors and specialists.

Inclusive design and modular structure

Particular attention was paid to a responsive and modular design that automatically adapts to different devices and screen sizes. This guarantees consistent user-friendliness and also makes it easier to maintain and update the website.

Another central element was the consistent implementation of accessibility in accordance with the requirements of BITV 2.0. A clear design language, easy-to-read typography and high-contrast color scheme, supplemented by functions such as easy language, maximum contrast, intelligent search and language switch, ensure comprehensive accessibility.

Improved visibility and promotion of children's rights

The design of the new website is characterized by large, emotional images and UI elements with rounded corners. These elements give the website a modern and friendly look that is both child-friendly and professional. The donation button, deliberately kept in bright red, specifically draws attention to this central theme.

Overall, the relaunch has significantly improved the visibility and user-friendliness of the DKHW website. With this redesign, JUNGMUT has made a significant contribution to the promotion of children’s rights in Germany.
